Board Certified Periodontist Serving San Jose Dr. Jeremy K. Ueno is a board certified periodontist and a Bay Area native, born and raised in San Jose. He attended Leland High School where he played on the basketball team for all four years. It was in high school where Dr. Ueno decided to go into dentistry. He attended the University of California, at San Diego (UCSD) where he majored in biology and minored in both history and economics. During his time at UCSD, Dr. Ueno interned at Genentech in South San Francisco every summer where he worked in the IT department. It was in this setting that he was able to get an appreciation and passion for technology, as witnessed in his office. Upon his college graduation, he decided to move to San Francisco and work for Genentech. However, he still had his dream of going into dentistry in the back of his mind. During his first year working full time at Genentech, Dr. Ueno applied to many of the top dental schools in the country. Dr. Ueno decided to train on the East Coast. He attended Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. It was here where Dr. Ueno was able to experience his first of many blistering cold winters as well as an extreme passion of the Bostonians for their Red Sox. At Tufts, Dr. Ueno fell in love with periodontics. Following his graduation at Tufts, Dr. Ueno completed his periodontics residency program at the world renowned Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine in New York City. This was an experience that changed his life as he was able to train under some of the top clinicians and researchers in the world. He was also immersed in the Red Sox and Yankees rivalry on the New York side this time. Upon graduating from Columbia, Dr. Ueno decided to return home to the Bay Area. He loves the location of our practice in Campbell as we are easily accessible by many major freeways. Dr. Ueno also loves sports and follows the majority of the Bay Area teams. He enjoys playing basketball and golf in his spare time. His biggest hobby, however, is cooking where he enjoys concocting Asian inspired dishes and entertaining his friends with BBQ. |
